PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES

Jim Spears is an experienced accident attorney, dedicated to assisting the victims of personal injury and their families. Jim works primarily as a personal injury lawyer. Jim is a solo practitioner; if you hire Jim, he will be the attorney working with you. That is not the case with the mega advertising firms. Jim also worked as a staff attorney for the South Carolina Supreme Court and at Faucette Law Firm in Spartanburg for fourteen years. He had had his own law firm since July 1999. Jim has been practicing law in South Carolina since 1983 and in North Carolina since 1991.

Jim Spears has dedicated his practice to helping injured people in their struggle to obtain fair compensation. Since 1985, he has been a dedicated advocate for the victims of personal injury and their families.

A Message from Jim Spears:

My practice is dedicated to helping injured people in their struggle to obtain fair compensation. I have been practicing personal injury law in Spartanburg since 1985. Immediately after graduating from law school, I worked for two years as a staff attorney at the South Carolina Supreme Court. I then worked for a personal injury firm for fourteen years. I represent clients for the following types of cases: personal injuries; automobile accidents; workers’ compensation (on-the-job injuries); and Social Security Disability. Most of my practice is in the Upstate of South Carolina and the border counties of North Carolina, including, but not limited to the following counties: Spartanburg, Cherokee, Union, Laurens, and Greenville in South Carolina; and Polk, Rutherfordton, and Cleveland in North Carolina. I am admitted to practice in both South Carolina and North Carolina.

I have not spent all my life practicing law or going to school. I have worked in factories, worked in residential construction, I ran a paint contracting business, delivered mail as a substitute rural mail carrier for the United States Post Office, various jobs at Laurens Glass, and other non-legal jobs. My experiences in other types of work have been a great help in understanding and dealing with the problems that working people face when they are injured. I know how insurance companies very often fail to deal fairly with people who have been injured. It is my job to work for my clients to get them the help and compensation they deserve. I will work my hardest to accomplish that goal. I work as a sole practitioner. If you talk with a lawyer in my office you will be talking to me.

If you have a question concerning one of the areas of law that I handle, give me a call to discuss your problems. It is better to call and ask about a legal question and find out whether you have a case than to wait too long to do anything.
